About Me

My name is Nick Landells and have always had a love of the outdoors and nature, taking up fell walking as a boy with my parents.  I have climbed all of the Lake District “Wainwrights”, some many times, I’ve also had lots of happy mountain days in Scotland and Wales, a few in the Dolomites and the Pyrenees too.
I always took photographs when out on my walks, but then started to take this more seriously – paying more attention to the light and composition, also branching out into taking seascapes, close-ups, abstracts and improving my post-processing skills – Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.
All of this seemed to naturally evolve into organising walks for friends and family and taking care of all the navigation tasks etc.  This took a similar course with the photography – regularly being asked for copies of my photos, for technical advice and for information on locations.  The obvious choice for me was to set up a business so I could share my knowledge and skills, and to have a job doing something that I love.

I am a qualified Mountain Leader, a member of the Mountain Training Association and a Duke of Edinburgh's Award Accredited Expedition Assessor and trained Supervisor. I am also trained in outdoor first aid, and have been DBS (CRB) checked (Enhanced Certificate for working with children as well as adults, and signed up to the Update Service). I have also undergone basic training in counselling, mentoring, youth safeguarding and mental health awareness, and hold a MiDAS certificate and D1 licence for minibus driving.
